Directions to The Reid Rooms

FROM CHELMSFORD

Take the A1060 signed Sawbridgeworth & Roxwell (Rainsford Road) for approximately 7 miles (10-15 minutes). After sign for Margaret Roding road bears right. Turn left here into Marks Hall Lane, signed The Reid Rooms. Continue for about 300 yards and The Reid Rooms is situated on the right.

FROM IPSWICH AND COLCHESTER

Take the A12 towards London and come off at the A120 at Marks Tey, follow signs for Stansted Airport. Follow the road for several miles until you come to Braintree. Stay on the Braintree bypass, following signs for Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport. Stay on the A120 until you reach Great Dunmow. Leave at 1st Dunmow exit signposted Chelmsford & Dunmow. At bottom of slip road turn right at roundabout signposted Dunmow. Take the next turning on the left, the B184, signposted Ongar & The Rodings. Go up the hill, past the industrial area and take the next turning, still the B184, and follow this road through High Roding and Aythorpe Roding until you come to a mini roundabout with a car dealer and shop on left hand side. Go straight over this roundabout onto the A1060 towards Chelmsford. Margaret Roding is the next village. There are two sharp bends, then after approx. 300 yards turn right into Marks Hall Lane and The Reid Rooms are situated on the right 300 yards along Marks Hall Lane.

FROM HARLOW, BISHOP’S STORTFORD

From Hatfield Heath keep on A1060 signed Leaden Roding and Chelmsford. At Leaden Roding turn right at mini-roundabout, following signs for Chelmsford. Margaret Roding is the next village. There are two sharp bends, then after approx. 300 yards turn right into Marks Hall Lane and The Reid Rooms are situated on the right 300 yards along Marks Hall Lane.

FROM LONDON AND BRENTWOOD

Come off A12, signposted Chelmsford, continue to the 1st roundabout (Mason Too restaurant on your left). Take 2nd exit (Megabowl Bowling Stadium on left) to next roundabout. Take 1st exit into Westway through industrial area, straight over 1st and 2nd set of traffic lights into Waterhouse Lane. Proceed down Waterhouse Lane, passing the fire station (on right) to next series of traffic lights. Remain in left hand lane and continue over to next traffic lights (still in far left hand lane). Bear left at these lights, following the signs for A1060, Sawbridgeworth, Leaden Roding & Roxwell. Keep on A1060 for approximately 7 miles (10-15 minutes). After sign for Margaret Roding, road bears right. Turn left here into Marks Hall Lane, signed The Reid Rooms. Continue for about 300 yards and The Reid Rooms is situated on the right.

FROM M11 (Junction 7)

Take the A414/Harlow exit and follow signs to Ongar (approximately 5-7 miles). At Four Wantz roundabout in Ongar take 1st exit, signed Fyfield/B184. Keep on road for approximately 5-6 miles. At T-junction with A1060 turn right following signs for Leaden Roding/Chelmsford. At Leaden Roding turn right at mini-roundabout, following signs for Chelmsford. Margaret Roding is the next village. There are two sharp bends, then after approx. 300 yards turn right into Marks Hall Lane and The Reid Rooms are situated on the right 300 yards along Marks Hall Lane.
